Thank you to everyone for tuning in to my live interview with Joel Rubin!
I sat down with former Obama State Department official, Bernie Sanders’ Jewish Outreach Director, and author of Saving Democratic Foreign Policy: How Democrats Can Earn The American People’s Trust To Lead the World Once Again, Joel Rubin, for a wide-ranging conversation on the future of Democratic foreign policy.
We discussed Israel and Gaza, Zionism and antisemitism, AIPAC, the push for a two-state solution, the rise of anti-Israel politics within parts of the left, DSA and progressive isolationism, Ukraine and Russia, Iran and the nuclear deal, America’s role in the world, and what Democrats need to offer beyond simply opposing Trump.
We also looked ahead to 2028 and the growing tension between ideological purity and pragmatic, internationalist foreign policy within the Democratic Party.
