Could Arkansas actually be competitive in 2026?
I sat down with Arkansas Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Hallie Shoffner for a wide-ranging conversation about her campaign to defeat Sen. Tom Cotton and why she believes voters across party lines are ready for something different.
A sixth-generation farmer who was forced to close her family farm amid rising costs and the economic crisis, Hallie explained how that experience pushed her to run for Senate and shaped her focus on rural communities, affordability, constituent services, and challenging a political system she believes has stopped working for ordinary Arkansans.
We also got into data centers and transparency, digital privacy and Flock cameras, ICE and immigration, gun rights and safe storage, corporate monopolies and what she calls “moral capitalism,” election integrity, and the strategy behind trying to turn one of the country’s reddest states into a genuinely competitive Senate race.
And with polling showing Hallie competitive, we discussed why Arkansas may deserve far more national attention than it’s getting, as well as whether Tom Cotton will actually debate the woman trying to take his seat.
